Alejandro Benavides

Alejandro Benavides currently serves as the President of HL7 Centroamérica y República Dominicana and as a Consultant for Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo, focusing on data architecture in healthcare using interoperable standards. As a Regional Consultant Specialist in Software Development for the Pan American Health Organization, Alejandro supports vaccine safety initiatives in Latin America and the Caribbean. Additionally, Alejandro holds the position of Senior Digital Health Consultant for the CHISU Program, and has been the Global Deputy CEO at RECAINSA, facilitating digital health activities across Central America. Alejandro founded the HL7 Costa Rica working group and has significant experience as CEO of Meddyg, specializing in medical image management solutions. Further roles include IT Consultant for Proxtronics Inc. and advisory positions in various medical imaging projects. Alejandro's educational background includes studies at Universidad Interamericana de Costa Rica.
