Derek Kunaka

Derek Kunaka possesses extensive experience in health information systems and project management, currently serving as Deputy Project Director - Technical and Health Information Systems Director for the CHISU Program since August 2020. Prior roles at JSI | John Snow, Inc. include Senior Health Information Systems Advisor, Country Director for South Africa, Chief of Party for the Enhancing Strategic Information Project, and Country Manager for the ESI Project. Additionally, Derek served as a Senior Health Information Systems Advisor for MEASURE Evaluation from June 2013 to March 2020, and held strategic positions at USAID from May 2001 to November 2008. Academically, Derek holds a Master of Science in Strategic Management from the University of Derby, a Senior Management Programme diploma from the University of Pretoria, and a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Rhodes University.
