The Maison was founded in 1952 by Gaby Aghion, an Egyptian-born Parisian who wanted to liberate women’s bodies from the stiff and formal fashion of the era through her luxury ready-to-wear offering.
 
Since then, the Maison has entrusted a succession of emerging talents to further Aghion’s vision, including Karl Lagerfeld, Stella McCartney, Phoebe Philo, Hannah MacGibbon, Clare Waight Keller, Natacha Ramsay-Levi, Gabriela Hearst and the current creative director, Chemena Kamali.
 
The Maison is committed to producing beautiful products through a purpose-driven model. In October 2021, Chloé received B Corp certification, marking a new stage in the Maison’s transformation.

The Merchandising Team at Chloé plays a pivotal role in aligning the Maison’s luxury products with market demand and consumer trends. They are responsible for planning, buying, and managing product assortments across various channels, ensuring a seamless integration of the brand's vision with commercial strategy. This team collaborates closely with design, production, and sales to optimize product offerings and enhance the customer experience, while maintaining the ethos of a forward-looking, purpose-driven model.
