Chocolates El Rey, founded in 1929 in Venezuela, was among the first to introduce the concept of single-origin chocolate to the world.  El Rey's premium single origin chocolates are produced in Barquisimeto from cacao grown in the Barlovento region and the Rio Caribe region of Venezuela.  Becaues El Rey uses a single bean in the chocolate's recipe, the result is a more intensely flavorful product.  El Rey's couvertures are used by gourmet chefs worldwide, as well as by chocolatiers, home chefs, or enjoyed eaten out of hand as a treat.
