The Choices International Foundation serves as an umbrella body of all the national Choices Programme structures, representing and facilitating the introduction of the Choices logo internationally. 

The Choices Programme is a global, front-of-pack initiative which helps consumers to easily select healthy food and beverage options. As an industry initiated, multi-stakeholder initiative, it was introduced in response to the World Health Organization’s call for food industry to help tackle the growing problem of obesity and non-communicable diseases around the world. 

The Programme fosters healthy consumer choice and healthy product innovation within all sectors of the food industry, and its impact is documented in several independent scientific studies. 

All companies can participate in the Choices Programme regardless of size, and products can carry the Choices logo if they comply with the Programme’s product criteria. These criteria – based on international dietary guidelines and periodically reviewed by an independent International Scientific Committee - take into account a product’s level of fat, sugar, salt and fibre to determine its eligibility to carry the Choices logo on the front of it packaging. 

When consumers see the Choices logo on the packaging of their favourite foods and beverages, they can be sure that these products represent a healthy choice within their respective food categories.
