Dafydd H.

Dafydd H. has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Starting in 1998, they worked as a Senior Analyst/Programmer at KSCL, where they were involved in developing a wholesale telecom-billing system. Dafydd then joined Edinburgh Diving Centre as a Scuba Diving School Manager, responsible for managing and organizing scuba diving courses.

In 2000, Dafydd joined TelesensKSCL as a Senior Analyst/Programmer, where they were part of a design team developing a custom airtime-discounting system and worked on call collection and pricing developments. Dafydd also spent three months at Oracle for training and certification in Oracle database administration.

From 2002 to 2005, Dafydd worked at Radiolinja Oy as a Senior Solutions Architect, providing user, technical, and operational support for the Jupiter customer care and billing system. Dafydd then moved to IBM as a Senior Solutions Architect, leading the migration project to replace a legacy billing system at Elisa Oy with the Amdocs CRM and Billing system.

In 2006, Dafydd co-founded South Pacific Traders, a company that imported and distributed New Zealand and Australian beers and wines in Finland. Dafydd managed various aspects of the business, including supplier negotiation, licensing, forecasting, and accounts.

Dafydd joined Elisa in 2008 as a Senior Solutions Architect, focusing on billing excellence and system replacement. Dafydd was also involved in production change management and technical approval meetings. Dafydd later joined Spark New Zealand in 2010 as a Senior Solutions Architect, where they worked on projects related to the mobile core network, Skinny Mobile, and the TaaS and Fibre B2B projects.

In 2016, Dafydd joined Chorus NZ Limited as a Principal Solutions Architect, leading projects related to data analytics, AWS cloud platform, and billing. In the data analytics role, they worked on delivering the data analytics technology roadmap, increasing data accessibility, and data security. For the AWS cloud platform, they focused on laying the foundation for increased presence and future innovation. In the billing role, they were a member of the leadership team for a billing replacement program, successfully migrating wholesale customers to SAP ERP.

Dafydd H. attended Wellington Polytechnic from 1986 to 1987, where they pursued a degree in Data Processing. Dafydd then went on to Rongotai College from 1982 to 1985, but did not obtain a degree or have a specified field of study during their time there. In addition to their educational background, Dafydd H. obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2009, they received certification as a Scrum Product Owner from the Scrum Alliance. In 2002, they achieved the Oracle Database Administrator Certified Associate certification from Oracle, as well as the Oracle Certified Professional Internet Application Developer, specializing in Oracle Forms Developer Release 6/6i. Dafydd also holds the certification of Open Water Scuba Instructor from the Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI), which they obtained in 2000.
