Marshall Cox has a diverse background in entrepreneurship and innovation. Marshall founded Radiator Labs in 2011, a company that won the MIT Clean Energy Prize, the Popular Science Innovation Award, and the Verizon Powerful Answers award. Radiator Labs developed a system called the Cozy which is a wireless, low-cost, and easily installed retrofit that drops on top of radiators to control indoor temperatures in buildings with radiator heat. In 2010, Marshall founded and advised Chromation, a company that created a broadband low-cost micro-scale spectral sensor using photonic crystals.
Marshall has also been involved with the Startup Leadership Program (SLP) since 2011, first as a Fellow in the NYC 2011 program, and then as the NY Program Co-Leader in 2012. SLP is a selective global training program and lifetime network for outstanding founders and innovators. In 2010, Marshall was also a Fellow with InSITE, an organization that brings together top students to support entrepreneurs in their pursuit of venture capital and angel investments. In 2012, Marshall was voted "Entrepreneur of the Year" for the 2012 NY chapter by their peers.
Marshall Cox obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University between 2000 and 2002. Marshall then went on to receive a Master of Engineering in Materials Science and Engineering from Cornell University between 2002 and 2004. Marshall completed their education with a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Columbia Engineering between 2008 and 2013.
