Victor Soares

Victor Soares has a diverse work history spanning over two decades. Victor began their career at USWeb as a Programmer/Analyst, where they played a key role in building the company's corporate Intranet and received recognition for their work from CIO Magazine. Victor then joined HardCloud as a Site Engineer, contributing to the launch of an extreme sports e-zine and store. Victor then worked as an Internet Application Developer at MentalShock before joining the City of Tigard as a Web Administrator, where they rebuilt the organization's website and implemented content management systems.

In 2006, Victor became a Senior Java Developer at NBX, Inc., where they collaborated with product development teams to enhance the site's fantasy sportsbook and social network offerings. Victor also managed consultants and assisted in prioritizing and developing new features.

Victor's career then shifted towards product management roles. Victor joined Jive Software as a Professional Services Engineer and later became a Sr. Technical Project Manager, overseeing Jive implementation projects for clients and managing a team. Victor then transitioned to a role as a Senior Support Manager and eventually became the Director of Technical Account Management.

In 2016, Victor joined New Relic, Inc. as a Product Manager and progressed to several leadership positions, including Senior Product Manager, Principal Product Manager, and Director of Product Management for Application Performance Management (APM). While at New Relic, they contributed to the company's product strategy and played a crucial role in enhancing the APM platform.

Victor continued their product management career at Proofpoint, where they worked as a Group Product Manager for the TAP Dashboard, collaborating with cross-functional teams and launching new features to improve customer experience and threat analysis.

Most recently, Victor joined Zscaler as a Principal Product Manager, focusing on an emerging product that utilized Zscaler data to address new customer use cases. Victor led exploration and strategy efforts, expanding the automated executive QBR reports and contributing to the company's growth.

In 2023, Victor will join Chronosphere as a Product Manager.

Victor Soares has a diverse education history. In 1996, they enrolled at San Jose State University, where they pursued a field of study in Business: Information Systems until 1998. Following this, from 1998 to 2000, they attended Deanza Junior College, focusing on a general education program. Victor then returned to Portland State University in 2001, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Business: Information Systems at the School of Business. Victor successfully completed this program in 2005.

Continuing their education, Victor enrolled at Portland State University once again in 2005 and completed a Project Management Certificate program in 2006, emphasizing Project Management. Furthermore, in July 2021, Victor obtained the Section4 Certified Innovation Strategist certification from Section4.
