The journey began way back in the year 1982 when Dr. Sudhir Agarwal along with his brother, Sanjeev Agarwal, floated a partnership under style of Chuknoo and Company, acquiring membership of U.P Stock Exchange with primary focus on underwriting and marketing IPOs. The firm, in a span of 10 years became the leading marketers of New Public Issues, consistently being ranked in top 20 underwriters of India. This feat was achieved by developing a network of 20,000 agents across India.

In 2004, Chuknoo Commodity Brokers (P) Ltd was floated. The Company acquired membership of National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) and Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX), newly formed commodity exchanges of India. The company was major volume driver of these exchanges.
In 2009, Chuknoo Securities Ltd. started trading on National Stock Exchange of India Limited and BSE Limited, India’s premier equity exchanges and depository participant for the Central Depository Services (India) Ltd. Within no time the group led by an experienced executive team with deep industry knowledge, opened its ten wholly owned branches throughout the country.
