Lara Buscemi

Lara Buscemi is a scientist currently serving as a Chargée de Recherche at CHUV | Lausanne University Hospital since 2015. Previously, they held postdoctoral positions at the University of Lausanne and the University of North Dakota, where they focused on Ca2+ signaling in astrocytes and the neurotoxicity of HIV-1, respectively. Lara earned a PhD in Physiology, summa cum laude, from the Universitat de Barcelona, following their postgraduate studies in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a degree in Pharmacy from the same institution. Throughout their career, they have contributed to various research initiatives and mentored students in multiple academic settings.
