Niklaus Schaefer

Niklaus Schaefer has extensive experience in the field of nuclear medicine and medical oncology, currently serving as Médecin Chef and Associated Professor at the Centre hospitalier universitaire vaudois (CHUV) since August 2015. Additionally, Niklaus holds a position as Deputy Chief and Associated Professor at the same institution while contributing as a Steering Committee Member for Clinical Audits and a member of the Federal Commission of Radiopharmaceutical Products at the Bundesamt für Gesundheit. Previous roles include Assistant Professor and Senior Consultant at Universitätsspital Zürich from 2009 to 2015, a Postdoctoral Researcher at Johns Hopkins Hospital, and numerous positions during a residency at Universitätsspital Zürich. Niklaus Schaefer also has served as a member of the University Council and President of the Legal Commission at the University of Lausanne and was President of the Swiss Congress of Radiology in 2017-2018. Educational qualifications include a Medical Doctor degree and Venia Legendi in Medical Oncology and Nuclear Medicine, both from the University of Zurich.
