Serge Bignens

Serge Bignens is the Co-Head of the Institute for Patient-centered Digital Health at Bern University of Applied Sciences, where they also serve as a Professor of medical informatics. After studying at the Polytechnical University of Lausanne and Carnegie Mellon University, Serge began their career in software development in Zürich and later transitioned into the health sector, leading significant eHealth initiatives in Switzerland. They have contributed to numerous consulting mandates and have held leadership roles at various healthcare organizations, including the Public Health Department of the State of Vaud and Swiss Post, driving the development of eHealth strategies and platforms. In addition to academic roles, Serge is actively involved in several boards and committees, promoting digital health innovation.
