Mark McCans

Mark McCans is the Managing Counsel at CIBC, specializing in technology law, outsourcing, electronic commerce, and licensing. They obtained an LL.M. from the University of California at Berkeley, focusing on technology contracting and open-source licensing, and an LL.B. from the University of Ottawa, where they conducted extensive legal research. Mark also earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo. Prior to their legal career, they worked as a product manager and software developer at Slofstra Software Inc. Additionally, Mark has held various leadership positions within legal associations and contributed to technology law publications.
