Daniel Belcher

Daniel Belcher is a Research Associate at Cibus since June 2022, specializing in the cultivation of rice plants in greenhouse and controlled environments to support breeding research and production initiatives. Prior experience includes a role as a Laboratory Technician at Dark Heart Nursery focused on tissue culture, and managing a 2-acre hydroponics duckweed farm at Plantible Foods as part of cultivation operations. An internship at SCOPE provided exposure to organic plant breeding education at UC Davis, while earlier work as a Laboratory Research Assistant involved researching forage quality in alfalfa and hemp. Daniel holds a Bachelor of Science in Plant Sciences and a minor in Managerial Economics from the University of California, Davis.
