Georg Böcherer

Georg Böcherer is a Principal Research Engineer at Ciena, focusing on DSP architectures and algorithms for next-generation datacom optical modems. They previously worked as a Senior Research Engineer at Huawei and held the position of Senior Researcher and Lecturer at the Technical University Munich from 2012 to 2017. Georg began their career as a Research Assistant at RWTH Aachen University, where they also earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, summa cum laude. They hold a Master’s Degree in Information Technology and Electrical Engineering from Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich.
