John McKinnon

John McKinnon has over 40 years of experience in the telecommunications industry, with a significant focus on network management and software development. Since March 2010, John has held several vice-presidential roles at Ciena, including Vice President of Development for Blue Planet Software and Services, and Vice President of Product Line Management for SDN, Network Management, and Design Tools. Prior to Ciena, John spent 17 years at Nortel Networks, where positions included Director of Product Management for Metro Ethernet Network & Service Management and Senior Director of Product Management for Network & Service Management. John's career began as an Apprentice at STC, followed by software development roles at Nortel Networks, culminating in a strong foundation in product management and technical leadership.
