Jon Proesel

Jon Proesel is a director of xPO Analog ICs at Ciena, following the acquisition of Nubis Communications, where they served as director of IC design. With expertise in analog and mixed-signal circuit design, Proesel specializes in high-speed optical and electrical communications, having worked extensively with silicon IC technologies ranging from 130nm SiGe BiCMOS to 4nm FinFET CMOS. Their prior experience includes serving as a postdoctoral researcher and research staff member at IBM, contributing to the design and test of high-speed optical transmitters and receivers. Proesel has also held programming roles at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they supported psychological research through programming and system maintenance. Currently, they are pursuing a B.S. at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a Ph.D. at Carnegie Mellon University.
