Jon Romano

Jon Romano has extensive experience in the telecommunications sector, currently serving as Director of Sales Technology and Processes at Ciena since August 2011. In this role, Jon leads a team of Systems Engineers focused on the success of Ciena's global customers in the EMEA region, particularly managing the BT account. Jon's previous positions include Senior Manager of Global Accounts Systems Engineering EMEA at Ciena and Project Development Manager at Geo (now Zayo), where responsibilities spanned managing bid teams and defining solutions for multimillion-pound contracts. Jon's career journey also includes roles at Huawei, Interoute, Virgin Media, Nortel Networks, Marconi PLC, WorldCom, and Nortel Networks again, focusing on design, planning, and engineering of transmission networks. Jon holds a BEng degree in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Brunel University of London.
