Michael Talbert Jr.

Michael Talbert Jr. serves as the Leader of Global Trade Compliance at Ciena, a position held since August 2015, where responsibilities include ensuring compliance with global trade policies, assessing products for export control compliance, and managing the application process for licenses and permits across multiple jurisdictions. Previously, Michael held roles at L-3 National Security Solutions, notably as an Export Compliance Coordinator, where relationships with customers in the NSA, DOD, and commercial sectors were established to enhance product sales. Michael's career began at Ciena as an Import/Export Analyst, focusing on tariff classification and audits, and earlier as a Traffic Compliance Manager at L-3, where organizational systems for shipping requirements were developed. Michael possesses an Associate of Applied Science in Business Management and a Certificate in Business Management from Anne Arundel Community College.
