Paul Madeira

Paul Madeira possesses extensive experience in the field of electrical engineering, with a career spanning multiple prestigious companies. Beginning at Nortel Networks as a Senior Design Engineer from 1997 to 2003, Paul transitioned to STMicroelectronics in a similar role until 2009. After a tenure as a Senior Staff Engineer at Semtech, Paul advanced to a Principal Design Engineer position focused on High Speed Interfaces at Huawei from 2011 to 2018. Following this, Paul held the title of Distinguished Engineer and Technical Director at Huawei Technologies Canada until 2022, contributing significantly to high-speed interface technologies. Currently serving as Senior Director at Alphawave IP Group, Paul leads efforts to enhance R&D capabilities in Kanata, Ontario, while also working as a Senior Architect in Analog IC Design at Ciena since 2024. Paul holds both a BASc and MASc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
