Rebecca Smith is Senior Vice President, Global Marketing & Communications at Ciena. In this role, Rebecca has global responsibility for articulating Ciena’s value proposition, advancing the company’s brand and thought leadership platforms, and driving engagement across key stakeholder groups, including customers, partners, and employees. Rebecca’s team works closely with Ciena’s sales organization to accelerate the company’s efforts to create more intelligent and adaptive networks that can cater to users’ demands for high-bandwidth services and applications.
With over 25 years of industry experience, Rebecca has built her career in the high-tech industry with a focus on software and networking in the telecom sector. Previously, she served as Ciena’s Vice President, Global Portfolio and Programs Marketing, where she was responsible for leading the company’s portfolio and vertical marketing strategies, thought leadership programs and global campaigns, as well as overseeing Ciena’s market and competitive intelligence team.
Prior to that, Rebecca held senior customer-facing roles within Amdocs, including Vice President of Sales for its North American Division and Vice President of Product and Solutions Marketing, where she cultivated go-to-market strategies across Amdocs’s portfolio. She holds an MBA and a BA in Economics from McMaster University in Ontario, Canada.
