Rodney Wilson

Rodney Wilson is an experienced technology leader currently serving as Chief Technologist for Research Networks at Ciena since 2010, where responsibilities include leadership and collaboration with universities and the research community. Prior to Ciena, Mr. Wilson held notable positions at Nortel, including Sr. Director of External Research and Director of Emerging Technologies, contributing significantly to advanced technology initiatives. Earlier experience includes serving as Director of Global Marketing at Motorola ISG and various roles at Gandalf Technologies over a 12-year period. Mr. Wilson's career began at the University of Toronto, where duties involved managing a global high-speed network for the UTLAS operation. Educational credentials include studies at Stanford University Graduate School of Business and Ryerson University, alongside an honorary degree from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology.
