Ron Malenfant

Ron Malenfant is the Head of 5G Strategy and Architecture - Sales CTO at Ciena, with a focus on advancing 5G technologies. Previously serving as Vice President of Strategic Accounts for Private 5G networks at JMA Wireless, Ron also contributed significantly at Cisco in various roles related to 5G mobility and IoT for over two decades. Responsibilities included leading mobile solutions development and acting as Chief Architect for Service Provider IoT. Early career experience includes consulting engineering roles at Nortel and BayNetworks, where Ron specialized in VOIP, MPLS, and network management. Educational background includes a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and attendance at the MIT Sloan School of Management.
