Ron Thomas

Ron Thomas is a Software Engineer with current experience at Ciena, focusing on the Routing and Switching Portfolio's Software Stack Core Infrastructure since May 2023. Prior to this role, Ron worked at Huawei from May 2021 to April 2023, where responsibilities included assisting in the development of networking algorithms, creating network simulations in C++ and Python, defining a patent for congestion detection, and implementing load balancing mechanisms in P4 programmable switches. Earlier experience includes serving as an Online Learning Assistant at the University of Toronto in 2020 and as a Design Engineer and Project Manager for the Toronto Island Sailing Club in 2019. Ron holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto, earned in 2023.
