Shawn Simmons

Shawn Simmons is a Director of Project Management for the Majors and Markets Franchise at Ciena, a position held since August 2015. Prior to this role, Shawn served as Senior Manager of Global Field Operations and Program Manager, leading a team responsible for deploying 2100 nodes across 17 states within a tight nine-month timeframe. Before joining Ciena, Shawn was a Project Manager at Cyan, Inc. and had an extensive tenure at Calix and Advanced Fibre Communications (now Tellabs), where similar project management responsibilities were undertaken. Shawn holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo, earned between 1993 and 1998. Shawn is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
