Shawn Simzer

Shawn Simzer is an experienced QA Director currently leading a multisite team of 24 QA engineers and automation infrastructure experts at Ciena since March 2010. In this role, responsibility includes overall planning, objective setting, and execution for Release Integration and Scrum Verification teams within the Blue Planet division, emphasizing close collaboration with design, PLM, Product Owner, and Systems Engineering. Shawn Simzer has driven the full adoption of Agile methodology and promoted continuous integration using a Postman automation framework. Prior to Ciena, Shawn Simzer served as OAM Verification Manager at Nortel from August 2006 to March 2010, demonstrating a strong background in quality assurance and team leadership. Education includes studies at South Grenville, with additional training in reading Blue Coat.
