Simon Allder

Simon Allder is a highly experienced Technical Presales professional with a career spanning over three decades in the telecommunications industry. Currently serving as a Consulting Systems Engineer at Ciena since July 2007, Simon specializes in global Submarine System Capacity Upgrades and is also involved in Global Cloud Networks and Datacenters. Prior to this role, Simon held positions as Senior Systems Engineer and Systems Engineer at Ciena, focusing on the UK Markets sales hub and the Nordics region. Before joining Ciena, Simon worked as a Transmission Engineer at Level3 Communications, where responsibilities included network design for SDH, DWDM, and Ethernet networks. Simon's earlier experience includes serving as a Network Integration Engineer at Ericsson Telecom, overseeing test and verification of SDH and DWDM equipment, and as a Field Engineer for the British Antarctic Survey. Academically, Simon holds a BSc in Physics from the University of Bristol.
