Sophia Yang

Sophia Yang is a skilled software application engineer with a robust background in full stack development and project leadership. Currently employed at Ciena since May 2021, Sophia previously worked at Cheetah Networks Inc. from September 2019 to September 2021, where leadership of the frontend team focused on technology enhancements and user interface redesigns, alongside the implementation of a real-time network performance dashboard using React and Python Django. As a project lead at the Council of Entrepreneurs for Africa, Sophia developed a WordPress multisite for healthcare information, facilitating the automatic generation of subsites for new hospitals. Additionally, experience as a peer tutor at Algonquin College significantly improved student academic performance. Earlier roles included leadership and sales functions at HanShengGuangHua Cultural & Education Corp., enhancing customer service and engagement. Sophia holds an undergraduate degree with honors in economics from the University of Ottawa and further education from Algonquin College.
