Vipul Bhatnagar

Vipul Bhatnagar is a Senior Manager in Photonic Systems at Ciena, where responsibilities include managing a team of 16 engineers focused on architecture, requirements specification, and control design for multiple active optical transport platforms. Bhatnagar has extensive experience in systems engineering for optical data transmission and switching products, serving as a prime engineer for new platforms and features, while also engaging in early-stage product definition and system architecture. Before Ciena, Bhatnagar worked as a Principal Engineer, leading the design and testing of optical communication subsystems, and held the position of Electrical Engineer at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory. Bhatnagar holds a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.
