Debra Steger

Debra Steger is an Emeritus Professor in international economic law at the University of Ottawa, Faculty of Law. They served as a Senior Negotiator at Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada from 1987 to 1993 and held various academic roles, including Full Professor and Hyman Soloway Chair in Business and Trade Law at the University of Ottawa from 2004 to 2019. Currently, they are a Senior Fellow at both the C.D. Howe Institute and the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI). Steger earned their LL.B. from the University of Victoria and an LL.M. from the University of Michigan Law School.
