Joel Blit is a Professor of Economics at the University of Waterloo, where Joel has served since July 2011, and a Senior Fellow at the Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI) since May 2015. Previously, Joel was a Member of the Advisory Board for the Creative Destruction Lab from January 2013 to January 2018 and acted as an Expert Witness on Online Music Services at Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP between March 2013 and March 2014, co-authoring an expert report and testifying before the Copyright Board of Canada. Joel's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Toronto, a Master of Arts in Economics from Western University, an MBA from INSEAD, a Master's of Applied Science in Computer Engineering from the University of Waterloo, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto. Prior to current roles, Joel was a Professor of International Affairs at George Washington University from August 2010 to June 2011 and worked as a Management Consultant at AMS Consulting from August 1999 to June 2001.
