A R has extensive work experience in the field of HR and IT. They began their career at iGATE Global Solutions as an Executive in 1997. They then joined Rite Choice Consultants as the Head of IT from 2001 to 2005. In 2006, they worked as an Assistant Manager - HR at Continental Suraksha Insurance Services and as a Senior Recruitment Consultant at Catalis World Pvt. Ltd. From 2010, A R has been working as a Manager at CIGNEX.

A R completed their secondary education from Mount Mary Convent High School between 1974 and 1979, where they obtained an SSC degree with a specialization in English. Subsequently, from 1979 to 1984, A R attended the University of Mumbai and attained a Bachelor of Commerce degree (B.Com). No specific field of study was provided for their B.Com degree.
