Mengyan Li

Data Scientist at Ciitizen

Mengyan Li has four years of work experience. In 2020, they began working as a Data Scientist at Ciitizen. From 2018 to 2020, they were a Data Scientist at Decision Engines, where they worked on deep-learning based RPA (Robotic Process Automation). In 2017, Mengyan was a Graduate Research at Lehigh University and a Data Scientist Intern at Bank of China. At Bank of China, they brainstormed and strategized AI-assisted AML workflow plan to automate the detection system, extracted transaction records from multiple data warehouses and operators’ pdf reports using SQL and pdftk, and built machine learning model (SVM/LSTM) for the AML detection system to predict AML activities. Additionally, they developed a Document Recognition API using Tesseract to recognize words and automatically fill screening forms, and a preprocessing module to de-skew and de-noise the uploaded documents.

Mengyan Li attended Peking University from 2008 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Psychological and Cognitive Sciences. Mengyan then attended Lehigh University from 2014 to 2016, where they were pursuing a PHD in Cognitive Psychology, but dropped out before completing it. In 2016, Mengyan Li returned to Lehigh University, and obtained a Master of Science (MS) in Statistics in 2018. Additionally, they obtained an AI Engineer Mastery Program Certificate from BitTiger in November 2017.
