Andrew Lee is currently the Assistant Director of Legal Governance at Manchester City Council, a role they began in 2024. With over 20 years of experience in Local Government, Andrew is a Chartered Legal Executive and a strong advocate for the positive impact of Local Government on communities. They chair the national trailblazer group for CILEx apprenticeship standards, having recently delivered new standards that allow apprentices to qualify as CILEx Lawyers with rights of litigation and advocacy. Under their leadership, the Wigan Council team won the Lawyers in Local Government Innovation Award in 2021, and their Legal Development Pathway was shortlisted for the LLG Excellence in Training Award in 2024.
