Emma Davies has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and organizations. Emma is currently serving as the CILEX (Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) President since July 2023, responsible for overseeing the organization's activities. Prior to this, they held roles such as Non Executive Director, Vice President, and Devon branch Committee Member at CILEX. Emma is also a Committee Member at CILEX Members Devon and a Trustee at The CILEx Foundation.
In terms of their legal career, Emma worked as a Legal Officer (Regulatory) at the Royal College of Nursing - Company, representing nurse members in regulatory proceedings and handling multiple aspects of their cases. Emma also served as a Personal Injury Executive at Rundlewalker Solicitors and a Trainee Legal Executive/Legal Secretary at Symes Robinson & Lee Solicitors.
Outside their legal profession, Emma has volunteered at Age UK Exeter and worked as a Market Analyst at Reuters earlier in their career. Additionally, they have authored a book chronicling their journey of overcoming breast cancer on their terms, which was self-published in October 2020.
Lastly, Emma has been actively involved in the CILEX organization, where they served as a Committee Member for the Devon Branch from 2009 to 2019 and as a Council member from 2013 to 2016.
Emma Davies attended St Peter's C of E High School from 1992 to 1995. Emma then went on to study at Exeter College from 1995 to 1997, where they obtained a BTEC GNVQ Advanced in Leisure & Tourism with Distinction. From 1997 to 2000, Emma studied at Sheffield Hallam University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science (BSc Hons) degree in Hotel & Tourism Management. Subsequently, they enrolled at the University of Plymouth from 2000 to 2001 and earned a BSc Hons degree in Tourism Management with a second-class upper division (2.1). Starting in 2005, Emma attended CILEX Law School for four years, completing ILEX Level 3 & Level 6 in Law. Emma obtained additional certifications from CILEX, including becoming a CILEX Lawyer and a 2022 CILEX Member: Fellow, both in 2022.
