CIRAD
Charles Mottes has extensive experience in agro-environmental research and practices, currently serving as a researcher at CIRAD since 2015. Responsibilities include the installation and management of observation devices in watersheds, conducting agricultural practice surveys, and developing hydrological monitoring stations for pesticide concentration data. Mottes has also created models to simulate the impact of cropping systems on pesticide transfer and has developed innovative methods for promoting agricultural practice changes. Previously, at INRAE, work focused on designing productive and environmentally sustainable cropping systems in response to climate change, incorporating scientific knowledge into multi-criteria evaluation models. Mottes holds a Ph.D. in agronomy from AgroParisTech and has coordinated multiple projects, authored scientific papers, and engaged with various stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
