Simon Madec is a Research Scientist at CIRAD since September 2021, specializing in crop high-throughput field phenotyping methods utilizing millimetric resolution imagery and deep learning techniques. Previously, Simon served as a Postdoctoral Researcher at The University of Queensland and Arvalis from January 2020 to December 2021, and as a PhD Student at INRA French National Institute for Agricultural Research from April 2015 to June 2019, focusing on aerial multi-sensor drone imaging of crop canopies and plant response quantification to water stress. Earlier experience includes an Engineering Intern position at Reuniwatt in 2014, where Simon worked on intraday solar forecasting using satellite images, and internships at the University of Nevada Las Vegas and STMicroelectronics. Simon holds a PhD in image analysis, statistics, and deep learning, as well as an Engineer's degree in computer vision and signal processing.
