John Bowron

John Bowron holds a Ph.D. in Physics and has extensive experience in optics consulting. Currently serving as a Lens Designer at Circle Optics since April 2019, John previously worked as a Senior Optical System Designer at IMAX, where responsibilities included designing and tolerancing custom short throw projection lenses for digital projectors. John’s career also includes roles as Manager of Optical Design at ELCAN Optical Technologies, Senior Optical Engineer at Christie Digital Systems, and Staff Scientist at Waterloo Scientific Inc. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. from the University of Waterloo and a B.Sc. from Simon Fraser University, both in Physics.
