Derek Baker

Derek Baker is a finance professional with a diverse background in strategic finance and startups. Currently working at Circle as part of the Strategic Finance team, Derek's journey began as a customer of the platform through Plan Buddies, which Derek co-founded in June 2023. Prior to Circle, Derek served as a Senior FP&A Analyst at Neighbor, learning from an experienced CFO, and as a Financial Analyst at Clientbook, where fundamental finance processes were established. Derek's experience also includes roles at Savvi Legal, where valuable real-world applications of classroom knowledge were gained, and various finance internships across startups, solidifying a passion for entrepreneurship. Derek holds a degree in Finance from Brigham Young University.
