Deputy General Counsel

Daniel Kaleba serves as Deputy General Counsel at Circle, overseeing commercial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, litigation, intellectual property, AI, investigations, enforcement, and employment since June 2021. Prior experience includes roles as Assistant General Counsel with a focus on global litigation and intellectual property, and as a Board Member at Centre. From 2007 to 2021, Kaleba was an Assistant United States Attorney, progressing to senior positions such as Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division. Earlier career highlights include working as a Litigation Associate at Cooley LLP, a law clerk for Hon. Procter Hug, Jr. at the Ninth Circuit, and conducting research at the American Institutes for Research. Kaleba holds a JD from the University of California, Berkeley - School of Law, an MA from Stanford University, a BA from Colgate University, and has attended the University of Oxford.
