Ron Powell has diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Ron began their career as a Post-baccalaureate Research Assistant at Los Alamos National Laboratory, where they developed tools for data analysis and generated global particle distributions in the Saturnian magnetosphere. Ron then worked as a Graduate Research Assistant at UCLA, studying planetary magnetospheric physics and analyzing data from the Cassini spacecraft. During this time, they also served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, handling teaching responsibilities and assisting students with their assignments.
Moving into the private sector, Ron joined Samsung Electronics America as a Strategic Reporting Analyst and later became a Developer Evangelist, promoting the company's products and technologies to developers. Ron then transitioned to Baryonic Matter, where they worked as a Mobile Application and Game Development Consultant, providing expertise and guidance on various mobile development projects.
Currently, Ron is employed at CircleCI, initially joining as a Developer Advocate - Content Producer, responsible for creating technical content, managing guest authors, and facilitating partnerships. Ron then progressed to the role of Technical Content Marketing Manager, overseeing the development of technical blog content and collaborating with external publications. In their most recent position, Ron holds the title of Sr. Manager, Marketing Insights and Strategy, where they utilize their extensive experience to inform the marketing team's decision-making and provide strategic guidance.

Ron Powell completed their education with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physics from the University of Montana, which they attended from 2006 to 2010. During their time at the University of Montana, they also majored in Math, earning a second Bachelor of Arts degree in the subject. Subsequently, from 2011 to 2014, they pursued Geophysics and Space Physics at UCLA. In 2018, Ron obtained a certification as an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner from Amazon Web Services.
