Thomas Freese is the co-founder, CEO, and CTO of Circolide, where they develop sustainable building blocks, chemicals, and materials from biomass waste streams. Currently a PhD candidate in Green Chemistry at the University of Groningen, Thomas has previously worked as a Chemical Laboratory Technician at Remmers Gruppe AG and completed a Master’s project at AkzoNobel. They are a founding member of the Green Labs team at the University of Groningen and actively advise on sustainable science practices. Thomas received the Joseph Breen Memorial Fellowship in 2023 for their contributions to green chemistry education.
