Steve Wilson

Steve Wilson has an extensive work experience in the air transportation and logistics industry. Steve started their career at Conducive Technology as a Senior Java Software Engineer, where they designed and built large scale distributed systems for key clients in the travel industry. Steve then moved to FlightStats, where they held various leadership positions including Chief Technology Officer, Chief Product Officer, and finally Chief Data Scientist. In these roles, they applied statistics and machine learning to identify and correct data outliers, predict flight performance, and analyze aviation trends. Steve also developed data warehouse models and SQL/ETL routines. Currently, Steve is working as the Senior Director of Data Science at Cirium, where they apply machine learning and data engineering to solve challenges in the air transportation and logistics markets.

Steve Wilson obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Accounting from the University of Phoenix, where they attended from 2004 to 2006. Prior to that, they received a BBA degree in Finance from Boise State University, completing their studies in 1996.

In addition to their formal education, Steve has also obtained several certifications. In 2018, they completed the Deep Learning Specialization from Coursera and became an AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Associate through Amazon Web Services. In 2019, they achieved the AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty certification from Amazon Web Services. Most recently, in January 2021, they completed the Natural Language Processing Specialization from Coursera.
