Jeff Reed is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in cybersecurity and wireless technology. As the Advisor and Cofounder of Cirrus360 since January 2021, Reed contributes to innovative solutions in the field. Reed has been with Virginia Tech since August 1992, holding the position of Willis G. Worcester Professor and serving as the Founding Director of Wireless@Virginia Tech, one of the largest wireless research groups in the United States. In addition, Reed has served as Chief Science Officer at PFP Cybersecurity since June 2017 and was Interim Director of the Commonwealth Cybersecurity Initiative, a statewide center dedicated to enhancing cybersecurity and fostering economic development in Virginia. Reed co-founded Federated Wireless and Cognitive Radio Technologies, further establishing expertise in advanced communication technologies. Reed obtained a BS, MS, and PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of California, Davis, between July 1977 and December 1987.
