Philip Thomas CSMP has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Philip started their career as a Police Officer with the Metropolitan Police in 1980, where they gained expertise in operational uniformed and covert policing, training, policy, and project work. During their time with the Metropolitan Police, they held various roles, including evaluation and change to various Close Protection courses, co-leading the National Aviation Firearms project, and serving as a CoS during the 7/7 attacks.
In 2012, Philip joined LOCOG - London 2012 as the Head of Security for the IOC HQ Hilton Park Lane and IPC at St Pauls. In this role, they were responsible for all aspects of operational uniformed security, briefing and debriefing with IOC and IPC, and liaison with various stakeholders, including HM Gov, NOCs, and military and security teams.
After their stint with LOCOG, Philip worked at Bulgari Hotel and Residences as the Assistant/Director of Safety and Security. Philip chaired and led on health and safety issues and continued to deliver training. Philip also focused on providing high-end customer service for high-value assets. Their achievements in this role include creating successful models for hospitality operations and receiving the Safer Hotels Award.
In 2017, Philip joined Allied Universal as the Head of Training and Development, where they achieved remarkable success by creating an extensive training catalog, designing and maintaining an award-winning Learning and Development program. Philip played a crucial role in shaping the company's unique selling point in this area.
Most recently, Philip joined CIS Security Limited as the Head of Learning and Development in 2022.
