Charles Eckel

Charles Eckel is a Principal Engineer at Cisco, specializing in global technology standards and serving as a Developer Advocate for open-source software and standards. With over two decades of experience at Cisco, Eckel has held multiple technical leadership roles focused on innovation in video conferencing, IP communications, and interoperability solutions for public safety. In addition to responsibilities at Cisco, Eckel co-chairs various committees at MEF Forum and serves as the Hackathon Chair for IETF, promoting the integration of open standards with open-source projects. Eckel's educational background includes a Master’s degree in Computer Science Systems and Networks from Stanford University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering from UCLA.
