Derek Idemoto

Derek Idemoto serves as the SVP of Corporate Development and Cisco Investments at Cisco Systems, Inc. since December 2007, where responsibilities include driving external innovation through acquisitions and investments, overseeing over 100 deals totaling more than $20 billion. Prior experience includes roles as Managing Director of Venture Investment at ITOCHU Technology, Inc., and as a Strategic Consultant for Idemoto Group. Derek also held the position of Vice President of Corporate Development at Overture Services, Inc., where contributions led to its acquisition by Yahoo for $1.6 billion. Earlier roles included Venture Associate at Kline Hawkes and Senior Financial Analyst at both Cowen & Company and BancAmerica Securities. Educational qualifications include an MBA from UCLA Anderson School of Management and a BS in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley.
