Fran O'Brien

Fran O'Brien is an experienced wireless industry executive specializing in global industry standards and product growth. Currently a member of the Service Provider CTO team at Cisco Systems, Fran actively participates in numerous international standards bodies and serves as the Steering Committee Chair of oneM2M. They have extensive experience in global business environments across China, Japan, Korea, and Europe, and previously held the position of Senior Director at Alcatel-Lucent, overseeing the Wireless Standards and Intellectual Property Department. Fran earned a Ph.D., M.A., and B.S. in Physics from Boston University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, respectively, and has been a judge for the World Communications Awards since 2014.
