Jock Bovington

Jock Bovington is a technical leader at Cisco, where they have contributed significantly to silicon photonics projects and international collaborations since 2017. Previously, Jock held roles as a Senior Technical Leader at WSP Global and co-founded Axalume Inc., where they co-invented foundational intellectual property. Jock's early experience includes serving as a Senior Hardware Engineer at Oracle and an intern at Intel Corporation, where they developed critical innovations in photonic technologies. They hold a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering (Photonics) from UC Santa Barbara, complemented by master’s and bachelor’s degrees in related fields.
