John Parello

John Parello is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in engineering and strategic roles. At Cisco from January 2016 to February 2025, John served as Principal Engineer, where responsibilities included driving AI and Agentic strategy and leading the Open Source Program Office (OSPO) as well as the AI strategy for DevNet. Additionally, John held a CTO position at Cisco Innovation Labs, focusing on technical strategy and innovative solutions. Prior experience includes a role as a Technical Advisory Board Member at JouleX, contributing to its successful acquisition by Cisco, and teaching Advanced Programming in C++ as an Adjunct Professor at Pace University. John also has a background as an Engineering Manager at Avesta Technologies and as a founding partner of nGage systems, LLC. Academic credentials include a BA in Computer Science from New York University and an MS in Computer Science & Electrical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology.
